Great for Flying
Got these for my bf whose a CFI pilot. He absolutely loves them. Have held up well, and love that you can go right to red light instead of having to cycle through white light to get to it, which helps a lot when flying.

Pilot's best friend for GA night flying
You've probably seen this same headlight being sold at Sporty's for about the same price and, I can personally attest, they are the exact same headlight. Dollar for Dollar, this has to be one of, if not THE best, headlamp for pilots. Here's the breakdown:Pros:Separate buttons for the white and red light functions! If you choose this headlamp for just one reason, it will be this one. Simple practice and muscle memory will prevent any inadvertent white light deployments in a dark cockpit. Not one, but Two different brightness settings for the red light! Some adjustment can be made to the white light beam via the orange ring around the big circle light.Batteries included.Angle adjustable and it stays where you "click" it.Cons:It's a bit bulky, esp by today's standardsTakes AAA batteries, not AA batteries. (most ANR/Bluetooth headsets take AA's so you'll need to carry spares of both sizes)Flying older aircraft you never know when your going to need both light and your hands free to get a job done, so I always have mine with me within arms' reach of where I'm sitting. Used my previous one for years until the batteries corroded, but it served me so well I saw no other action than buying another one.

Company stands behind their product
I had bought 2 of these as the mound pivot holes ended up breaking on both. I contacted the company to see if I could purchase replacement mounts and they acknowledged there was a manufacturing defect they have corrected. I was pleasantly surprised they immediately replaced both purchases at no cost to me. Good for them by standing behind their product. This is a great light and I recommend it.

Another Disappointed Purchaser - Flawed Design
I suffered the same experience as many other purchasers: great light, poorly designed pivot mounting bracket. My first lamp worked great, right until the pivot/retaining piece snapped off while in my flight bag. I thought, "I'm careful... but I'll really be careful with the next one." So with one working light and a broken mount, I ordered another. Two weeks in my flight bag... being very careful... and it once again snapped at the pivot point. I won't make the mistake of ordering another one. As I mentioned, it's a great light, perfect for flying or any other suitable application, but the mount is woefully weak and fragile.

Good light - just right!
Great for night flights. 2 levels of red illumination, 1 level of white. Separate buttons for each color, if you have the white light on and then turn on the red, it automatically turns off the white light for you. Comfortable... everything you could ask for in a good light for night flights at a good price point. Quite possibly the best bargain in aviation today??

Great concept and light performance, BUT the attachment mechanism broke on first day
Light, easy to use, and powerful. Unfortunately, the pivot point mechanism is poorly designed. The holes in the band broke off, leaving the light assembly detached.

Works well in the cockpit,
adequate red light without overwhelming the environment, not too dim and not too bright.
