Easy game for five year old. He enjoys playing with the realistic pancakes and stacking them

Cute toy, good quality and value. My 4 year old grandson really likes it.

My son is 3 and received this for Christmas. Our older child is 6 and this is a game they can both play together. To make it a bit easier and reduce strife we created “levels” and made it more cooperative. Level 1: Follow the recipe card - each child has their own card. Child practices reading the card, sequencing, and fine motor skills with the spatula. I have them play cooperatively so no one “wins” until both dishes are complete and correct. Level 2: 1 recipe card and person who completes theirs first (always the 6 yr old) becomes head chef and gets to coach the other until both dishes are complete. Level 3: Box and cards are on same side of the room. As intended, the goal is for the child to move across the room without dropping their pancake, but they have the benefit of the box being right next to the cards to help them figure out what they need next. Level 4: Box and cards are at opposite sides of the room. Here the child has to remember the pancake type run across the room to get it and bring it back to the plate, so it adds a bit more difficulty. You can also divide the objects (card, box with pancakes, and plates) across 3 locations which can make it easier depending on the distance.My son regularly requests “Pancake game”, at least once a week. Most times he’s just happy playing alone or with Mommy, where we sit next to each other and complete recipe cards. This is definitely a game he can grow with. I could also imagine this being so much fun for a classroom or party full of kids where it can be a real relay race. Overall, highly recommend!

I got this game for my 3 and 6 year old. My 3 year old is working on motor skills, so the relay aspect of this game has been great for him. The boys understand that it is a race, but the game is so much fun that they don't event get upset if they "lose." I did not read the rules fully, just enough to get the gist of it so the boys could play. This game would be a great gift for kids 4-6, in my opinion (especially those with siblings).What I like:1. The game is adaptable to different ability and skill levels. I would say that any kiddo who could walk could play with an adult. You also could swap out the spatulas it came with for real spatulas!2. The kids learn how to follow written instructions (in picture form) and can self correct!What I don't love:1. I know that cards are going to get wrecked over time, especially as the boys start playing on their own. So, I may laminate them so they stay intact

Fun! Easy to play even with a 1yr old, puts away efficiently in box, cards legible to understand, kids loved the joy of a new game, took a bit of practice but a fun indoor activity

Bought this for my almost 3 year old for National Pancake Day. She had an absolute blast playing with it. Great value for money, good quality, versatile and sturdy. My daughter doesn't put toys in her mouth so the small size of the butter cubes wasn't an issue for us. We play with this regularly with the cards and also for pretend play in her play kitchen. The cards for the game have been really great for teaching her about sequencing. Highly recommend!

As long as no pieces get lost, this game is AWESOME. My 4 year old twins LOVE to run back and fourth across the living room, building their pancake piles, while my job (perfect for a tired mom) is to shuffle the card deck and then say, "Ready, set, go!" while I sit there and watch them race back and fourth. They get exercise, laughs, and get to problem-solve, and I get to just sit and watch them have fun. Granted, it is a winner/loser game, so if you've got a preschooler or toddler who throws a fit when they lose, this will, inevitably, happen. However, that doesn't change the fact that the kids can still have fun and get a little exercise before that happens. The one downside is that only two kids can play at a time, so if you have more than two kids, you'll need to buy additional games (there are only enough pancakes for two piles in each round) and once a piece gets lost, you're out of luck. That said, if your kids like to play with pretend food, the pancakes and butter pats and spatulas can easily be repurposed to the pretend kitchen when they outgrow the game or if pieces get lost and you don't want to replace them. For a parent of multiples, this game is AWESOME--since the kids are at the same learning level, they're equal competitors and it keeps them busy AND they can play it by themselves (though mine prefer a grown-up to do the official "Ready, set, go!") I highly recommend this game.

Great variety of pancakes. The pancakes are a great size for playing kitchen as well as this game. The game comes in a very nice and sturdy game box as well. Very pleased with this purchase.
