Performance and reliability

Exceptional Performance and Reliability! After upgrading to the Reyee AX6000 WiFi 6 Router, I’ve experienced a remarkable improvement in my home network’s performance. The router’s dual-band capabilities, offering speeds up to 1,148 Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and up to 4,804 Mbps on the 5GHz band, ensure seamless connectivity for all my devices . The dedicated gaming port is a standout feature, automatically prioritizing wired gaming devices for a fast and stable connection without the need for complex configurations .The setup was straightforward, and the user-friendly interface made it easy to customize settings to my preferences. With multiple devices connected simultaneously, including smartphones, laptops, and gaming consoles, the network remains stable and fast. The router’s robust design and eight adjustable antennas provide excellent coverage throughout my home.Overall, the Reyee AX6000 WiFi 6 Router has exceeded my expectations, delivering high-speed, reliable internet connectivity. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enhance their home network experience.

Easy setup. Increases WIFI range Effectively

I bought this to expand my mesh router network. I am not tech savvy but connecting this to my other router like this one was a breeze and it made the reach of my network much better. This router is outside the house in a different building on the property but it still reaches through the walls and connects to the main WiFi unit with a strong signal. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Better then Linksys

I've used Linksys and Netgear Routers in the past, the router this unit replaced is a Linksys WRT1900ACS, it's still a perfectly functional router and more then fast enough to support my 100mbps down internet connection but it simply lacked the Range I needed now that i'm expanding my smart home IoT devices, my Router is on a high shelf in the basement in the center of the house (roughly) as there are several things that needed to be hardwired to the router down there. I have one smart outlet on a fence post that just barely got like 2-4mbps down speeds on my phone at it's location on the old Linksys router, with this router my phone now gets 15-20mbps down speeds at that same location, I tested my phone using a Wifi Analyzer app with both routers running at a point near the fence post and the Linksys was roughly around -73dbm and this router was around -63dbm, so this definitely wins the range game compared to the Linksys, but it still wasn't enough range for my grand plan of IoT devices so I took advantage of another feature of this Router, it's support of Mesh Wifi, so I bought the Reyee RG-R6 2-pack to go along with it, talk about easy to setup, I simply plugged the 2 of them into power, went to this router and pressed the button on top, within minutes both of the RG-R6's where paired and then I moved them to their final locations at the far opposite corners of the main level of the house, I now have full internet speed EVERYWHERE inside the house, all over the front yard out and into the street(it's about 50-55 feet from the RG-R6 that is closest to the street) and i'll have to see how far away I can get in the backyard when it's not the middle of the night. Some things I would mention in hopes it helps others, Leviton Smart Switches and Outlets are easy to reconfigure the wifi to switch onto this, but my Arlo Video Doorbell had to be Deleted and re-installed in the Arlo app, it just refused to find the doorbell when I did the Change Wifi in the app, wasted like half an hour on that, so save your time, delete the doorbell and add it as a new device. There are also a few settings you'll want to set in the web interface under the Wifi section, this can be set to broadcast 2.4 and 5Ghz SSID's or you can toggle it to Dual Band Single SSID, doing this toggle to Single SSID means no more having to switch between your 2.4 and 5Ghz SSID's as you get too far away from the router and the 5Ghz drops out, when the 5Ghz drops you'll seamlessly switch to 2.4Ghz, you'll also wanna toggle on the "Band Steering", this lets the router choose what devices to push to 5Ghz and which to keep on 2.4Ghz (which are mainly old devices and IoT devices) based on the capabilities of the device. Now the only outstanding question is how reliable will this be, only time will tell.Oh and one last thing, my Wifi Calling works with this router, it didn't work with the Linksys I mentioned at the beginning of this review. So thats another plus.EDIT: 7 months into ownership and this thing is still going strong, haven't had to reset it or pull the power like you do on most routers and the speed, still kicking but, can transfer video files over wifi at 60-85 MEGABYTES (not Bits) a second, this is the same or faster then a USB 3.0 external drive plugged directly into the computer.

Reyee is a Chinese company, your data is not safe, not fully configurable.

Not disclosed anywhere in this product listing is the fact that Reyee is Chinese company. While many do not care, if you value your data and privacy, any such product is not for you.By law, the Chinese government has access to any data collected by a Chinese company. While Reyee offers cloud account and cloud-based features for management, and it is not seemingly active by default, there is so little in the way of configuration control in this router that you have no idea what is being sent to whom.If you use the app, you have to register for the cloud service. Use the browser instead. While they do advertise that there is no bundled security software, there are some other major items missing that are included with every router I have ever owned. You can “bind” or lock a device to a certain IP address, but you cannot name that device. Most devices do not register with a name but only a * symbol. Those that do register with a name are limited to full-blown OS installs and even then, the name will disappear given time. Even active devices connected by a switch may or may not show up but will drop off the list in a short time.Setting up a guest network is done by two different sections of the router for some reason and regular users will probably find it frustrating to find. The documentation is non-existent.Running the router thought several tests for leakage revealed none, but again, with such limited controls, you have no idea what is being sent where. The router defaults to using your ISP DNS and, again buried in the settings, you can configure another DNS, but there is no grantee that is what is being used. As a test, OpenDNS does see the local DNS set to them as being used when configured to use it. The main page will still state that your ISP DNS is in use.The signal strength is as advertised and covered all my in-house devices with no problem at all.Given the privacy concerns, the lack of configuration capabilities and basic missing features for management not to mention connected device management, it is worth it to pay $100 more or even double for a router with simple more features and established, reliable privacy policies.
