New preferred trackball
I tend to wear through pointer devices, and I'm rather particular about ergonomics. Logitech pricing is inflating and build quality seems to be diminishing. Wasn't interested in spending $100 on a device that was going to wear out. Replaced aging logitech MX Ergo because they look near identical and I am rather particular about it.Zero regrets.Product feels premium. Even more so than the Logitech.Input is smooth. Arguably smoother and more precise than the Logitech. Certainly much smoother than Kensington trackballs using softer bearings. You will be hard pressed to find a better track ball, and at $45 you won't beat the price either. Is there a catch? I'm still a new user. While build quality FEELS good, we'll see how it holds up in the long run. Out of the box and a few months use it's great.I don't know much of anything about ProtoArc, but everything about this product, from apparent build to presentation in packaging feels surprisingly high quality. Put the company on my radar. I'll be paying closer attention to other products. Hopefully these things genuinely hold up and ProtoArc can establish themselves and maintain the standard.Notes:Bluetooth connection takes a few seconds switching devices. This is typical. Resuming from standby can sometimes take a few seconds also to resume. Again, this is fairly typical of bluetooth devices, but it's not nearly so bad as some other devices I am using. If it's a problem, use the dongle. I don't.Quiet clicker. Makes mouse clicks feel a bit mushy if you're used to something more clicky. Right click seems overly sensitive by just a bit, and I regularly input by mistake. More of a point for adaptation. Still feels natural coming off an MX Ergo.

Works fantastically on every laptop and tablet tried!
An older Logitech M570 wireless trackball mouse was bumped around a bit too much this week and had to be replaced. We thought this ProtoArc near clone would work well. This EM01NL has exceeded expectations. Switching DPI is different, but actually the quick switch from low DPI to default is quicker than with the Logitech. In testing, the EM01NL works as well or better in every application, too. The two tilt settings let the user have a bit of relief from the default flat mouse position. Giving this 5 stars and recent specials are a no brainer at just over US$30! And a surprise in Lenovo Chromebook 500e testing the mouse driver allowed some remapping of the keys! The mapping is available on the Windows driver, too. After a few more days, wish we could give this 5 stars+ ! Having option to tilt allows changing hand position, better than other ergonomic trackballs with fixed hand tilt.

Lightweight plastic. Tilt is on a hinge, easy to charge.
I have hands with damage from arthritis so moving a mouse is a literal pain. I have used trackballs for over 20 years. When I tried one with a tilt, I was hooked. I like to have a mouse at every computer. A new crafting machine needed a computer so I needed another mouse. Rather than spending a lot of money to get another Logitech, I thought I would try this. It is a good deal and will do the job I need it to do,Cheaper plastic, the hinge that gives the tilt could break if the user is not careful. Trackball Scroll speed can easily be set from slow to super fast. Super fast might be good for gaming but not so great for everyday work. The back/forward buttons are in an inconvenient place. I would have switched them with the mouse speed buttons. Scroll wheel speed is okay. Disappointed that you cannot click with the scroll wheel.I have smaller hands and this fit well. Once I got the speed set for how I am using this mouse its functionality is just fine. Battery life seems to be okay, It is easy to recharge it. The price was right for me to try it. Is it my Ergo MX, no but this is a fraction of the Logitech. This connected easily to my android tablets and phones, It also easily paired with my Windows 10 and 11 devices. This will not replace my work trackballs but they will be the go-to in my crafting room.

This is MX Ergo without Logitech software!
After using MX Ergo for almost 5 years before the left button gave out. I can attest that this mouse is not only similar, but almost identical in feel and quality! The only difference is you cannot program the buttons, there's no storage for the USB dongle, and the tilt plate doesn't come off. The click feels a bit low and I feel like it might crap out on me just like the MX Ergo. This mouse is totally worth it! You get the back and forward button. The DPI buttons are actually useful since you cannot adjust mouse sensitivity on MacOS. There are 3 circles in the middle for you to toggle between the USB dongle and 2 other BT devices. MX Ergo cost $50 more just so you can program the buttons, I think that's a fair trade off.

Major Upgrade to MX Ergo - Just as Customizable without the Logitech Logi Options Software!
Fantastic mouse.I use a mac and was worried about losing customization when moving away from Logitech. But I found with chatGPT that the mac had really good support in the settings for remapping the buttons on this mouse. I was able to get the exact setup from my mx ergo without needing additional software.I'd used the mx ergo for years and mx master series before that.Wonderful company and designs. I'm so pleased.

Left Click fails after 6 months
It was great until it wasn't. Left click failed after 6 months. I'd say try one of their competitors because they're cheaper and also fail in less than a year of high use. To be fair I use them every day and for hours at a time as a computer geek and gamer. Cheap components though.Unrelated: in this particular model the trackball is a pain in the ass to remove to clean. Not a world ending design failure just an observation.Note: I've been a trackball user for almost twenty years now. They're great but while I used to swear by logitech trackballs, like the rest of this cheap hardware the quality went down dramatically while they remain twice as expensive as items like this.Maybe if you're a light user it'll be fine for you. 6 months isn't great in my book. I haven't found a trackball that doesn't crap out pretty quick anymore and that sad.
