Works just like OE at a fraction of the price!
Just installed this camera on my new 2011 Jetta Sportwagen. It fits, and looks just like the OE part from VW. The image quality seems ok. . . it's not the best quality, but good enough for a back up camera.Other than image quality, the only other thing that lets you know this is a knock off part is the "Click" of the trunk/hatch release button. It's a much more harsh click than the OE button, but once again not a big deal since it works just as well as the stock part.Happy with the part, and I'm thinking of ordering another one to install on my Audi as well.

Points straight down and not adjustable at all!!!
Bought this backup camera for my girlfriend's VW Tiguan and installed it over the weekend. We tested it just hooked to the radio at first and everything was fine, so we spent the next 3 hours routing the cables and replacing the rear door hatch handle with this unit. Then closed the gate and checked the camera to make sure everything was still working and with it in place it points straight at the ground. It's completely useless, you get maybe 5 or 6 feet of view... so you see the tires of other cars but not what's behind you. My backup camera on my truck shows me the ground and everything else straight back behind me for as far as you can see.

Worked for about 2 years
Installed in 2012 Jetta. Looks OEM from the outside. The viewing angle is definitely narrower than 170 degrees but it was good enough to see how far to back up. Died after 2 years of use, just over 20k miles of driving. Going to buy a different one to replace it.

Worked great and fit perfect on a 2013 Tiguan. I did have to code the rcd330 to activate the camera but other than that thumbs up

Poor viewing angle
Field of view is not good. Camera is pointed far down and is not wide angle. Not a good replacement for OEM. But it does the job I guess…

Doesn’t Fit VW Passat
The media could not be loaded. It didn’t fit 2013 VW Passat.
