Pretty nice controller for fans of early '90s games
I'd been putting off buying one of these for a while, but the N64-esque translucent green plus hall effect joysticks were enough for me to finally pull the trigger. It helped that I had gift card money and the tariffs scared me into grabbing this before it was too late, too. I realized I'd be unhappy never getting one if it came down to that.Connecting was simpler than expected and the instructions to switch from d-input to x-input are written on the back of the controller itself, which is very neat. X-input is better for Steam/PC and proper haptic feedback, but is limited to only four (4) controllers total, with the controller's assignment number lit up in green on the bottom of the controller like you'd expect from a modern Xbox or PlayStation controller. The buttons certainly feel like SNES buttons, though the four action buttons actually feel more solid and springier which is really, really nice. I never quite liked the feeling of a worn SNES controller's action buttons feeling thin and relatively action-less, so be prepared for a surprise there if you can relate with the worn feeling. The d-pad feels *exactly* the same as an SNES pad to me, so much so that I don't really even notice it, so props to 8BitDo on that. Most d-pads on modern controllers feel really awkward, like they're made only for menu selections, so it's a nice surprise to not have worries about the d-pad in the back of my mind while I'm trying to game. In some ways, this controller just disappears as you play, and I think that's a good thing if it's allowing you to immerse into the game itself instead of worrying about a controller being finicky. The only real surprise are the four L/R buttons, which really shouldn't be pressed with four fingers like you can on a larger controller. Here, the top ones stick out like you'd expect from an SNES controller, and the lower ones are really just there for compatibility more than anything. They are not pressure sensitive like GameCube and others, so that's something to be aware of, but they can read as a binary axis or as normal buttons depending on the connection mode you've set. I suspect for the few games where that could be a bummer there's some way you could set up a time delay in Steam to make it playable still perhaps. But GameCube and up really aren't the focus of this controller anyway. Anything from the '90s should be perfectly playable with this, with the joysticks perfectly positioned to make PlayStation fans feel at home as well.I'm pretty happy with the controller overall. It combines the compatibility of an Xbox controller with the nostalgia of the SNES layout, with a little PlayStation aesthetic mixed in for good measure. If you're looking for a licensed game to test this out with, I'm enjoying Axiom Verge paired with this controller.

Works with Switch 2 after firmware update!
Update to newest firmware (currently 2.06), power on, go to "Change Grip" on Switch, hold "Y" & "Start" on SN30 to put in pairing mode & it'll pair & you're ready to go!Soooo much nicer to play NES/SNES games with a proper D-pad & button spacing instead of using Joycons with analog sticks & bad button spacing.š

Fantastic full-featured controller for travel
Review is based on immediate impression -- Extremely lightweight, compact and full-featured, the perfect controller for travel. I recently brought a PS5 controller to play games on my laptop during a 13 hour plane ride, and while that solution worked perfectly fine, the controller was bulky and inconvenient to keep in my pocket as I was waiting to board. The SN30 Pror is the perfect size for that, and will easily fit in a backpack without taking up extra room. What's most impressive is that no features are sacrificed. You still have motion controls, thumbsticks and rumble in this tiny little package!

Not that transparent
Works great. Use it plugged into pc. Emulators and steam instantly detect it with no problems.Only issue is that the controller is VERY dark. I got the purple version and it's hard to see through. Don't expect it to have Gameboy Color or N64 controller type transparency.
